SILENSOR ANTI-SNORING SYSTEM
This device consists on one transparent splint for the upper jaw and one for the lower jaw. The lower jaw is either held in a predetermined position or advanced by 2 connectors that are fixed laterally to the splint. The velocity of the inspired air decreases and so do noise-generating vibrations of soft tissues.
Studies find that this device reduces snoring to 80% and can reduce to apnea index to a 50%.
When is it appropriate to use the Silensor
This device can be very efficient in all cases where snoring and sleep apnea are caused by the obstruction of the respiratory route. Its design is compact, comfortable and allows people to breathe through the mouth. For apnea cases, it is recommended to take an examination in a sleep laboratory to measure the rate of apnea and consider its effectiveness.
How to use your Silensor
This device is compact and comfortable, and the patient can use it every night. When you are given this device give, your dentist will give you directions on how to insert it and remove it. The first couple of days of using it, the patient may feel tension in the teeth and jaw, and increased salivation. This should disappear within a few days. Any discomfort that lasts more than three days should be consulted with your dentist.
